My name is Helen Andrea Galkowski.I grew up in Upstate New York in a town called Binghamton. I stayed there until I graduated from High School in 1970. I then went to Junior college in Newton Center MA for two years where I earned my AS degree in Physical Education. I continued my education at Syracuse University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Family Community service. Instead of going on for a Master's in Social Work I went on to nursing school. I attended Upstate Medical School of Nursing. I took my boards and practiced nursing.
I got married in 1976 to Howard Josephson who was then a law student in Oklahoma City , Ok. We lived there for a year until he finished his law studies and then we moved to Maryland. From Maryland we moved two more times as Howard had jobs in different places. West Virginia and New Jersey were our next moves. In 1993 we divorced and I returned home to Binghamton NY . In may of 1993 I met Jan T Galkowski who was later to become my second husband and my soul mate. I have two step sons 19 and 21 who make me very proud.
We just relocated to Cambridge MA and I have yet to get my feet on solid ground. At present I am not working and hope to do so soon.
